On commence par une petite curiosité : Mike Patton reprend du Gainsbourg.

Il fait aussi bien la voix de Gainsbourg que celle de Jane Birkin !

Ensuite, dans un style plus rock, directement dans la continuité de Faith No More, son groupe Tomahawk :

Avec un featuring sur chaque titre, entre autre : rahzel, massive attack, Norah Jones...

Sans oublier bien sur LE groupe ultime : Mister Bungle, qui a révolutionné la musique. Il faut savoir qu'énormément d'artistes revendiquent l'influence de Bungle. (Mei Tei Sho, par exemple...).

Si il faut retenir un album de toute la discographie de Patton, j'opterai sans doute pour "California" de Mr Bungle.

Après y'a aussi Fantomas, plus tripé. Avec Dave Lombardo à la batterie (batteur de Slayer), Buzz Osbourne à la guitare (guitariste des Melvins, le type qui a appris la guitare à Kurt Cobain...), Trevor Dunn à la basse (l'incroyable bassiste de Mr Bungle). Bref, la crème de la crème.
On notera que sur la vidéo envoyée précédemment, ce n'est pas Dave Lombardo à la Batterie, mais Terry Bozzio, l'homme qui était le batteur de Franck Zappa quand il avait 17 ans !

Sans oublier la quarantaine d'album de Patton en collaboration avec d'autres artistes internationaux (sepultura, bjork, the executionners, rahzel, kaada...

Son dernier projet en date : Mondo Cane, reprises de standard de la chanson italienne des années 30.

Et puis bien sur, il y a aussi les musique de films, les voix dans des films ou dans des jeux vidéo, les bruitages en tout genre et les albums solo...

Et une dernière curiosité, Mr Bungle fait un concert des Red Hot Chili Peppers, avec un patton plus fou que jamais, pour se foutre de la gueule d'Anthony Kiedys, avec qui notre chanteur préféré à eu quelques altercations... Le chanteur des red hot avait dit que patton lui avait tout piqué, j'en ris encore...

Sacré mike patton. Je n'avais pas suivi son expérience "fantomas".

Etonnant...

Je suis pourtant un grand fan mais là, c'est un peu trop conceptuel à mon gout. Je le préfère avec FAITH NO MORE !
